The JSM Pants Made Easier workshop covers everything you need to make a Custom Pants Block (a classically-styled pants pattern sized just for you). Make pants from your Custom Pants Block IN CLASS. Return home with PANTS THAT FIT and the knowledge and pattern to create more pants anytime you want in the classic style or a variation. This workshop is a unique combination of personal service and classroom instruction.

Enjoy a Personal Fitting
Joyce fits you in a pair of pants sewn from the JSM Pants Block during a private fitting consultation.

Custom Grade the Pattern
Custom grade your pattern following the Grading Plan Joyce prepared for you based on the fitting. (See Joyce’s Threads article on Custom Grading.)

Cut and Sew Pants
Sew pants to the try-on stage. (The try-on stage is without zipper or pockets and with stabilizer basted to top of pants in lieu of a waistband.)

Alter Pants / Adjust the Pants Block
Joyce fits you and aides you in adjusting your Custom Pants Block and altering your pants until they FIT TO PERFECTION.

Learn Finish and Design Techniques
Full instructions are provided for finishing pants in the classic style with fly front zipper and waistband and faced waist/contour band (low rise optional) and center back zipper as well as Instructions for tapering the leg and adjusting for weight change.

JSM Pants Made Easier in Alpena ~ May 27-31, 2010

Arrive in time for a 1st fitting appointment on Thursday, May 27th. (Select time below as you register for the workshop.) Depart anytime after 2 p.m. on Monday, May 31st.

This workshop session will be held in Alpena, Michigan at the Days Inn. Alpena is a lovely little town on the shores of Lake Huron in northeastern Michigan. Click here to find out more about the Days Inn of Alpena and the Alpena area.

Designed for the busy woman who sews, the Alpena workshop is purposely scheduled over Memorial Day weekend to make attendance possible using minimal vacation time. Enjoy all the benefits of the workshop, meet new sewing friends and spend off-hours sewing, sight-seeing or relaxing around the pool.

Accommodations
Cost for overnight accommodations are separate from the workshop fee. Most workshop attendees stay at the Days Inn for convenience. The meeting room (our classroom) is available for after-hours sewing for the duration of the workshop. The Days Inn provides breakfasts daily, use of indoor swimming pool and hot tub, and refrigerators in all the rooms.

Bring your own sewing machine or rent one locally. A supply list will be provided after registering for the workshop.
